I am in a wait-and-see mode to learn how will it all playout in the future, but ATM this fine is a joke regarding its severity. It is more like a "go talk to the principle", than some real punishment.

Back in 2012 Spurs got fined 250k for resting mostly old players. In todays NBA money, that would be about 385k, as cap has risen some 55% since. I am using that as a parameter, as the league wide revenue reflects cap spike.

385k - resting old players
500k - being cought cheating

NBA, where core values are set happens.
