All this won't mean anything if Kyrie bolts in 2 years.

Need to extend him.

Don't have the cap space to bump his salary to make an extension worth it for him. He's not signing an extension. Let's not even waste time talking about it.

Bumping this discussion around Gasper's article, considering Woj's report suggests confirms CLE's ask to complete the deal.

I think you'll see Ainge put in one or two 2nd rounders to finish the deal. He may even cave to a Cs first in 2019 if he has to....

3 draft picks? That's an overpay on top of our already great, initially overpaid package lol.

Here's why I think he is ecstatic, why he left Cleveland and Lebron, and why he wants to play for Stevens.

I think he can be a top 5 player in Stevens' system and I'm sure he thinks so too.

2nd round picks in the 40s or 50s? Please. Get the star player now, worry about Maine Red Claws players later....

Why do you think Cleveland is holding out for 2nd round picks in the 40s or 50s?  What is that worth?

Tell him

don't count your chickens yet

Cleveland front off still wants to take YOU down with their sinking franchise.

I meant need to extend him... After 2 years to a long term deal to make this deal feel worth it.

I'm guessing Irving is now our PG of the future and Ainge seems to agree too with this shocking trade (assuming it still goes through).

Because it's been reported in various places they're looking for a late 1st / early 2nd. And of the Cs assets, they don't have a lot of early 2nds lying' around. Most are theirs, and those will likely b 2nd half of the 2nd round.

Meanwhile, I suspect Ainge would rather give up two late 2nds than a 1st.
