Up until yesterday I thought Miami is miles behind, but now I'm not so sure.

If I'm Hayward, I'm going to think hard about these questions:
1. Is the Celtics really trying to compete now? the way Angie holding on to his picks make it suspicious, I don't want to be a in-between guy. I know that with myself on board, C's are still no match for the Cavs or Warriors, so will Angie quit pick hoarding and bring in someone else?
2. Do I want to be the main guy face off LBJ in the playoff, with no rim protector behind me?
3. Do I want to play along side IT and be the no.2 scoring options?

I don't know, I think if he has made up his mind before any of these trips, he's probably coming to Boston, otherwise I don't see why Boston is having any advantage except the very weak link to Stevens.

you dont see why  Boston has an advantage? #1 seed in the east. East just got easier to get through in playoffs. Lebron getting older while west gets extremely competitive. Heat and jazz might not make the playoffs

Who is our biggest threat in pursuing Hayward?

His wife.

100 percent correct. Wife does not want to stay in Utah. I think Miami is the biggest threat

Judging from a recent tweet from Gary Washburn, a key focus of the Celtics was on the fit Hayward would have with the team. This may trump all else for him.

As a player, his concern may also focus on his role in Boston, or Miami offense. Will he be the lead scorer? Will he be a center of the offense? Or what sorts of offensive schemes will the team run with him and for him?

How will he fit with the other players and the general offense?

Aside from winning in 5 years, or the need for sun tan lotion, these may rank high on his agenda and which ever team shows him a vision he likes may win.

I give the edge to Boston and CBS in doing this.

Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

I just don't see the appeal of Miami's roster.  Plus they have no future assets to continue staying young.

Now that he's meeting with Utah, I'm even more scared.
