That team takes 3 steps backwards from where we are right now. Crowder starting at PF with Giles as his backup means our rebounding is still awful. I see Giles as having huge bust potential and you have him as a primary backup.  Len is an underachiever and does one thing good(not great, just good), rebound. Most everything else he does isn't good. Smart isn't starter quality because he can't shoot. Brown is not starting quality yet. Maybe by end of next year. Out of 12 players 6 are either rookies or 2nd year players.

Hate everything about this idea.

Look at my post 2 above yours.

Same players, different rotation. It makes all the difference in the world - at least as good as we are now and probably better with a younger focus.
Still doesn't change who the players are or how experienced they are. Its still 3 steps backwards and so I hate the idea.

You're said that. Yet you've not said how it takes the team "3 steps backwards" so it's hard to understand why you despise the idea.
Jaylen Brown will be an All Star in the next 5 years.

Except many of these objections don't apply with the more accurate lineup I posted besides your dislike of Len. Smart isn't starting. Crowder isn't at PF. That's a world of difference.

I disagree with you in that Brown is ready to start. There's little doubt in my mind that we need to allow him to step up into that role at this point, especially if he puts the work in the offseason (which he seems to be doing). You don't like Len but he isn't worse than Amir Johnson and has far more upside. Tell me how my reshuffle makes the lineup worse.

Where do we take a step back beyond letting Bradley go (and depending on Browns' growth that may be a step forward) which is going to happen anyway?

IMO, it's overstating the case by saying "3 steps backward".  I would argue it more accurately "treading water" or modest improvement at most.

The most important players are IT and Horford.  You are not adding nor taking away any stars.  This is the most important factor.

You are counting on Brown development, rookie Fultz, rookie Zizic and Alex Len to make a difference.  All these things will help but not a big amount.  JMO.
