Last time we had the chance to pick at the top of the draft, Red dealt #1 and #13 to Golden State for #3 and Robert Parish (at the time a four-year vet). One of the best trades (if not the best) in NBA history!!

Any chance we see Danny attempting to do something similar this year?

Perhaps if he gets offered a Robert Parish type. Are there any 7-footers averaging 17/11 available?

The only way you trade down in this draft is either tricking the Lakers into thinking you're taking Ball at 1 so they trade you Randle and #2 for #1 and you still take Fultz, or you get Embiid and #3 from Philly (which you won't).

Other than that Fultz is the best prospect by a mile. You either draft and keep him or trade the pick for a young superstar, if any are actually available or DA could convince a team to a trade.

But yeah the minute we hit 1 the idea of trading down basically went out the window... obviously DA can do anything but I'd be shocked

Back in 1980, it wasn't that clear we had won the trade.

I mean, when Danny pulled off the Nets trade, how many criticized him for his decision? In all honesty, I was angry as hell because I coudn't accept the fact that PP wouldn't be a Celtic any more. Who's to say the next Robert Parish isn't already out there?

if u were mad at that trade you were viewing it strictly through an EMOTIONAL prism and not like a BUSINESS. PP and KG were mid 30's and washed up for all intents and purposes. it was a steal of a trade by DA>

AD is the only guy who could conceivably become available that we'd trade it for. If Curry, Durant, LeBron, Kawhi, Towns, or Giannis becomes available, Fultz would be on the table. Of course, that's not happening (neither is AD).
Isaiah, you were lightning in a bottle.

I've got a 7ft guy averaging 28 and 12 in mind.

His current team doesn't.

Danny implied in an interview before the game he agreed with the assumption Fultz was the no. 1 pick, but said they would go through the complete process of evaluation, including trades.

I think he'll probably pick Fultz, but he'll listen to any trades for the pick.

Trading down would have to be part of a bigger trade for a star player to make much sense, since Fultz is the consensus best player.

False dichotomy. For example, trade 1 for Porzingis and 8.  Would add sweeteners (Crowder, Rozier). Knicks unlikely to consider anything, however.

I still say trade the pick to NY for Porzingis and #8. For the #1, two 2nd round picks, Crowder and Rozier.

Sign Hayward and we are good for awhile.

The team still stays intact and with #8 you pick Malik Monk. So we still get a scorer and we get a big man. We don't give up 2018 #1. Next year take Porter with 2018 #1 pick.

Next year
IT
AB
Hayward
Porzingis
Horford

Smart, Brown, Monk, Yabo, Zizic

In 3 years
IT
Monk
Brown
Hayward
Porzingis

Zizic, Yabo, Porter, Jackson

You only have 2 max players. This is a stacked squad.
