While I am sincerely saddened by the KD injury, I hope that the Spurs surpass them in the race for the no. 1 seed in the west. They are just 3 back from GSW, IMO they have a better chance than we do and I still believe that we can catch CLE. I always seem to root for the underdog and I like the Spurs for a long time. I don't like that narration when it is CLE vs GSW finals before the season even starts. Remember the "Heat or 3-peat"? Hated that stuff too and Mavs won in the end! (it felt so good, especially after that disrespectful LBJ/Wade coughing before game 4 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LoOXKha7uL4 , karma police came and the rest is history.)
Another storyline that has been overused for my taste is the WBrook/Harden MVP race. Again no Kawhi talk and IMO he is a better player than both of them, his team is also significantly better record wise, with 6 and 13 (double) losses less. If Spurs can catch that no 1. spot, playoff bracket would be much more interesting too.
Take a look at some of the possible matchups;
1st round GSW-OKC - WBrook/Durant storyline
2nd round GSW-HOU - 300 ppg
2nd round SAS-CLIPS - Rematch of an amazing series 2 years ago
West finals SAS-GSW - looks a bit more evenly matched with SAS getting the HC

Can they do it or not?

sure they can, and since the kd injury unfortunately happened i've been hopeful for it.  GS and SA play each other two more times both in SA i believe (without KD) , if SA wins both which i'd put at 35-50% chance it'll be very tight going down the stretch .  only issue I think is GS has an easier strength of schedule i heard

I would like the Spurs, but I believe the Warriors will finish as the 1 seed.

I would like the Spurs to get the #1 because that means GS gets the #2 and their likely first round opponent would be... The Oklahoma City Thunder. That would be fun.

I have a great amount of disdain for the Sissy GSW. I take great pleasure in seeing them loose.

Spurs will be a nightmare matchup for the Warriors. They have bigs who can actually pound the Warrior's interior.

I'd also add Dedmon to that list of bigs alongside Pao and LMA.

Definitely the Spurs.

I would love it so much for Westbrook's Thunder team to knock off the Warriors in the first round after falling to the 2 seed. That'd be so righteous.

Of course, even without Durant, I don't see the Thunder beating the Warriors, so I'll settle for Memphis falling to the 7th seed and knocking off the Warriors in the first round without Durant.
