Only NY media is talking about Melo and the C's.  Unless he's given to us for a dime on the dollar - no way is Melo coming here.

Exactly. Amazed anyone thinks he still has value. His shooting is declining, his off-ball work (a staple for most good teams) is non existent. ReboundIng for his size - average at best. Has virtually been booted out publically and now trying to save face. Knicks have zero leverage. They should throw in Kyle O'Quin to sweeten it frankly. Give them a second rounder and Jackson if Phil is always worried about saving face.

We'd want a BIG long chat with Melo about his role as another condition too..

Not necessarily true.

1) His shooting this year is the best it's been in the past three seasons.  He's shooting more threes and making more of them.

2) His defensive rebound rate is pretty good for a small forward, and would be sixth on our entire team, or roughly on the level of Amir Johnson.  There's reason to believe that he could be an even better rebounder if played at the four (he posted a 19.4% defensive rebound rate three years ago, when he was logging a lot of PF minutes, and 19.5% last season.)

I don't want him, but he's still a very good player.  I think he'd be a decent-ish fit for our system as a smallball four who crashes the board, spots up, and gets a sparing amount of iso possession when our offense isn't working.  It's just that I don't want anybody that's not a bona fide #1 guy that would hurt our cap flexibility this summer.

Great words from a great man

Am I the only one that remembers the extent Griffin went to to keep DJ in LA... I don't see him leaving unless his relationship with the team has visibly soured...

Crazier things have happened (even since this week) but I don't see this one at all so it's hard to even get excited.
