Exactly. You really might as well try to dump assets to go younger and build around brown and the two Brooklyn picks.
The direction could be the other way. Frankly I don't care as long as one is picked and stupid moves aren't made.
As long as he doesn't pick a direction for the sake of picking a direction, but does it because he has an opportunity he can't turn down (ie trading for Boogie or another star, or drafting a true franchise talent), yes, picking a direction is a good thing. A lot of people are calling for the former (picking a direction for the sake of picking a direction), though
I get that, but if this team totally flames out in the first round again, I think Ainge will start feeling that heat. Frankly, I think this summer is the time for Ainge to pick a side anyway. I've been pretty vocal about my feelings that the decision point is coming. I think Boston could probably stretch it to 2018 if there is some real post season progress this year, but if it flames out again, I think Ainge will have to do something this summer, one way or the other.
