Heard this on Felger and Maz yesterday (although they meant for it to be for Anthony Davis but they said it could work just as well for DMC)
Brown
17 Nets pick swap
18 Nets pick
(maybe one of our future picks or Grizz pick)
Amir/Zeller for salary
Sure that's not a lot now but they made a good point that they get a bonus pick in the deal: their own 2017 (and probably 2018) pick. With DMC they are likely in the hunt for another pick in the 5-10 range but without him and a bunch of rookies and role players they are challenging Brooklyn and Philly for that top pick. PLUS they just got Brooklyn's next two first rounders.
So really they get:
2 likely top 5 picks in 2017
2 likely top 5 picks in 2018, and
A top 3 pick in 2016 (Brown)
Plus they still have all their young guys from the 2015 and 2016 drafts.
That's 5 chances in the top 5 in 3 years. Even Philly couldn't do that with the whole "Trust the Process".
Davis might be a stretch for this but Sacramento should really consider this if they ever want to be relevant again. Or they could just trade for Russel and Randle and be an even worse version of the Lakers (less Clarkson and Ingram).
