Jaylen Brown will get his first NBA start tonight in place of the injured Jae Crowder.

This could mean also Young gets 5-10 min of playing time

Well that's confidence after his not-so-great-performance last night. I think he and Smart will split time covering Lebron.

Ouch. Good luck Jaylen. Try not to foul out.

This game is suddenly must watch basketball though. I was thinking of skipping it and actually paying attention in class. Now i really wanna see how jaylen does.
I could very well see the Hawks... starting Taurean Prince at the 3, who is already better than Crowder, imo.

you vs. the guy she tells you not to worry about

Not that brown doesn't have the brass to go against lebron  BUT i would much rather his first start be against someone a bit easier to guard

Great point. It will almost impossible to beat the Cavs tonight, but tangible development by Jaylen is a decent consolation prize.

It will be a struggle on D.

But hopefully Brown at least gets a good whistle at the offensive end. If I'm the (corrupt) league office, a national TV game like this is a great way to (cough, cough) "showcase" a potential young star in Jaylen.

called it :), if Crowder goes out, Brown to start :)

I'm excited for his first opportunity to start but he's gonna get destroyed by LeBron, hopefully he impresses in his first start though!

Great.

But has to cover LBJ. That could get ugly early. Could see 3 quick fouls before he knew what hit him.

Since it is a back to back, and his minutes were pretty low last night, Brad may figure he is fresher to get extended minutes tonight.

How did he go?

I was going to make a post about him guarding LeBron but didn't expect him to start. According to the box score seems he is ready to step up if needed but like the other night he will have some foul trouble adjusting in the nba.

What were everyone's expectations for him v The Cavs and how would you rate his performance?

I'll have to watch the game

His best game as a Celtic by far. His jumper looked good. He drove to the basket and got an and-1. He dunked on LeQueen and his D on LeQueen was solid in the 1st half though he still makes his rookie mistakes on rotation D. He had arguably the most beastly rebound of all time.

The Celtics were in a huge hole in 4th quarter, but Jaylen, along with Avery, led the comeback surge to cut the lead down from 20 to 5 with 6 minutes to go. The Celtics didn't end up winning but LeQueen and Kyrie gave Brown props at the end of the game for his performance. He played so well that I'm starting to think it might not be so crazy to put him in the starting lineup permanently when Horford comes back (edit: and Crowder too).

Not that I watch wrestling anymore but can we call Jaylen the miz because he's AWESOME

TP for the info. As others have mentioned the best thing JB can take from this game is confidence, he now knows he can play with the best
