Horford at the 4?

KO at the 5? Anyone?  Just thinking outside the box here.  Would this help our rebounding? I also don't know why people are so dead set that Okafor is a 5 either. He seems more like he can play both. Same with Noel.  KO and Horford and pretty interchangeable that way too.   We are lacking a physical presence although Horford isn't half bad that way.

Horford should definately be able to rebound over most 4's although quickness may be an issue.   He's more of a 5 at this stage in his career to me.  Just has to play more physical.

The reason I say this is because KO isn't a great man defender but he is a good positional one. Horford I feel like excels as a center at this stage in his career though..  Both are pretty versatile that way.

When Horford returns I think Kelly will take Amir's place in starting lineup. Amir has really underperformed.

This kind of goes in line with Marcus being our de facto pg and racking up the assists when he's in the game where IT is more a playmaker and scorer.  We need a better rim protector than Amir ultimately and Zeller period but I hope brad figures this stuff out over time.

Yes, but defensively I'd rather have KO chasing stretch bigs on the perimeter and Horford guarding guys inside, so really I'd say it's KO at the 4 and Horford at the 5

Horford at the 4 is a rim protector too. He should be able to outphysical most guys there. SA does this with Aldridge and it's kind of the same.  Horford is mroe well rounded though where he should still be a center.

Memphis with Randolph and  Gasol.  More classic center and pf there. 

KO and Horford would give our own spin on it though.  KO can play position defense and can really cause opposing centers headaches on the offensive end.

Yeah we can just start KO at the 4.  I'd like to see them switch it up though at times if we are struggling rebounding or whatever.

We can still start amir too and bring KO in as well. I really want to see KO and Horford in there at the same time though.

Utilize mismatches too. That might be too much to ask of horford to play the 4 but I'd like to see it.

If it were me I'd be trying to play both KO and Horford 30 minutes a night. 

Smart and KO outside of IT, Bradley, Crowder and Horford should really be getting that at this point.  Jaylen is the quick forward to come in but he is still young.  Rozier is a spot player.  Green and guys like young and Zeller just give us other options.  Zeller and Amir are really interchangeable as well.

This is what I love because it really is that way.  The same goes for Marcus and IT.  Marcus can still be a passer off the ball and IT can be a playmaker off it as well.  Obviously there are situations where you want to utiilze players to their strengths and situations but this makes us much less predictable this way as well.  You want to be able to mix it up but also go with your strengths and what works.  None of these guys should be pigeonholed as this this or that but their strengths should be realized.

As this team develops we may be more set in our roles as well. The 80's celtics with DJ, Ainge, Bird, Mchale Parish as they developed were more set in their positions but they still mixed it up. 

This team is different right now where we are kind of a cross between those 70's and 80's celtics and still finding our way but we have a mix of talented players who are more experienced or stil developing.

Those 70's celtics kind of morphed from the 60's and evolved into the 80's. 

This team is different in its own right where we are still finding our identity in ways.  When we play well it's usually because players chip in in a variety of ways though to go with IT as our primary guy right now.

This team is almost pre 60's stuff before we got Russell where we are still finding our way.  Brad is a good coach because he's young and still learning himself and just allowing this guys to develop.

yes, very much the case. and i believe that CBS would make good use of similar bigs who can shoot from outside. one can rotate inside while the other moves outside, and then reverse depending upon the match up and situation.

i do want to see olly and horford develop chemistry together. should be fun.

KO and Al are interchangable depending on match ups. Both would provide floor spacing, play making and positional defense.
