I agree. Things are going pretty well for the Celtics. I think most people around here expect 50+ wins and a playoff series win (or two), while the young players develop well before they hit their prime. Danny's patience has worked so far, and at this point, I hope they see it through by using the two Brooklyn picks for their own team. Four years from now we could have the best young team in the NBA. Until then, we don't have to sit and watch our young players flounder like the rest of the developing NBA teams.
The only real mistake is the one from which we learn nothing.

It's a kind of magic...

Jaylen Brown will be an All Star in the next 5 years.

It amazes me that people are talking about the C's as a top 5 team in the league in 2016-17.  This is without landing a big fish (Horford signing is great, but he's not a superstar).   Pretty incredible to think that the C's were in the Eastern Conference Finals after winning the Atlantic in 2011-12.  And now they are right back in a similar place only heading up instead of down.

Kudos to CBS, DA and ownership.  Use current assets wisely in trades or draft selections and we could be looking at a really good run.

ESPN says we are the third best team in NBA long term.

We really are in a terrific place. Its pretty incredible.

In 2013 our best assets were our '14 first rounder, our '15 first rounder Brooklyn's '16 first and Brooklyn's 17 first.

Now I love Smart but that pick was pick #6 is a 3 player (later revised to 2 player draft). Our 15 first rounder ended up being about 10 picks higher than one may have expected, and the player we picked with it played more minutes in the D-league than the NBA. In 2016 we got the 3rd player in a 2 player draft and hes realistically not gonna crack the top 8 of our rotation this season.

The '17 pick isnt on our roster.

Thats not necessarily a dissapointing haul, but the fact that our rebuild has so exceeded those expectations without any of our 4 best assets really even reaching expectations is really impressive.
