If the league wasn't just ball kicked by The Golden State Checkmate, I'd think we'd have a tiny shot at a title this year.   I love this team and it should continue to get better.  Should be a top 5 team but it's like being a top 2 team in a league where the only two teams are the Harlem Globetrotters and Washington Generals.

We can make the ECF this year.

Many said the same thing in 2010-2011 regarding Miami - proved false;

Many said the same thing in 2014-2015 regarding Cleveland - proved false;

Many said the same thing throughout last season regarding GS's miraculous season - proved false;

You see a pattern here? I actually would bet that they don't win the title next year. Generally, newly formed super teams like that don't win the title their first year, with the 08 Celtics generally being the lone exception. And though they really only added one major star to the group, they pretty much gutted the bench and rest of the team to get him.

So, yeah, I would bet that someone other than Golden State would win the title next year. We should get a running poll/bet for this for next season.
He has said the same thing 500 times.  People make good posts like you just did in reply but he will continue to say the same thing every other day until Golden State gets eliminated in the playoffs.

I think we have guys who can hit big shots.  It's just not one guy which makes us dangerous.  Isaiah, Bradley, Smart, Crowder, KO, Horford, Brown I have confidence can hit a big shot.  Even Green and Jerebko and Hunter makes us dangerous.  I'm a Marcus Smart fan too.   I think he's clutch. Needs to get better.

As far as GS they are the super team but we are really deep.  I could see us dethroning Cleveland and being matched up against them.  Different styles.  Would have been nice to get Durant.

I am not sold you need the top of the top in the NBA. I think a really good team can win although not typical.

We have a good mix.  We can go small with range with Green and Jerebko and let Zeller sit and Brown develop or role with him.  We have 4 main guards in Isaiah, Bradley, Smart and Rozier.  Hunter and Jackson are good depth.  Green can shoot now and is what Young could be.  Good SF's with Crowder and Brown.  We can  move guys around a lot and go small and fast. We have a good mix of big men with Horford and Amir. Plus KO and Zeller and Jerebko plus MIckey factoring in if we want to go small.  KO can shoot.  Horford can do a ton of things.

I really like our team.  I'd put it up against anyone although that 3rd star needs to step up. Brown and Smart are really good.  I'm a fan of theirs and like that they have a shot this  year.  I also think Bradley and Crowder are really good players and solid starters.  Not really allstars but somewhere between that.

We play defense too and really disrupt opposing teams. We have length and quickness and physicality. We share the ball and do some really good stuff.

Isaiah and Horford are all star players
Bradley and Crowder are solid starters and close to that
Smart and Brown are upcoming players
Green, KO, Amir, Jerebko, Rozier all solid roleplayers with upside
Hunter, Jackson, Mickey are potential solid roleplayers with upside
Zeller is a nice backup center for 8 million that money could go somewhere and glad it did
Yab, Zizic, Nader solid stashes to give us even more depth
Bentil, Young, Thornton  decent upside but probably cuts or reassigned

Ainge has this mapped out and did some nice housekeeping where it all makes sense to me.  We have cap room and picks coming up. We can extend Isaiah.  We spent on Horford.  We have guys signed to bargain and tight contracts.   See Bradley and Crowder.  Plus rookie deals and a lot of flexibility.

You can have 13 active players.  15 total.  We have 12 plus we can mix in guys like Hunter, Mickey and Jackson. Our rotation probably won't go 12 deep but depending on big or small we really are.  OUr rotation each game will probably be about 10 though and short towards the playoffs.  Brown and Smart's development is really going to factor in.

Active rotation - I think as far as talent and minutes go.  Depends on Smart and Brown a bit and development of other guys.

10 man -

Isaiah
Horford
Bradley
Crowder
Smart
Brown - I'd like to see this as minutes distribution ultimately if Brown could be a 6th man. Probably won't happen his 1st year though.  But [dang].  Starting Isaiah, Smart, Bradley, Crowder and Horford or even Brown over smart isn't out of the question.  We'll probably roll with Amir in the starting lineup and go athletic though.  Maybe start Brown and use  Crowder that way.

Amir
KO
Green
Rozier

12 man

Jerebko
Zeller

15 man - additional depth

Hunter
Mickey
Jackson

18 man stash depth

Yab
Zizic
Nader

20 man possible depth

Young
Bentil

We are loaded with depth. Yeah we are primed for a trade in ways but I like it. As the world turns in soap opera fashion and guys step up it will become more clear who stays and who goes.

I think managing and playing all these guys will be a challenge but not really. I think Stevens can do it.  As they improve yeah we are going to lose some guys and sometimes better making trades but I don't think we need to force that. Free agency is out there and we can't become stagnant but there are ways to do that and make a nice trade somewhere maybe. I am really thrilled with this team.  I would keep an eye on that but wouldn't make a deal unless it's right.

I think we can challenge the top teams.  We might not be able to play everyone.  But Smart and Brown are really key this year.  Everyone is.  I don't want to see Crowder and Bradley break down like last year.  With Smart and Brown carrying some of the load it might be better. Horford is big and so is all our depth.  We are going to be a top team barring some unforeseen mess.
