I mean, Danny hardly ever simply just cuts somebody when he can gain some sort of asset out of it, even one as minor as a late second round pick. It's also good for his reputation around the league as being player-friendly.

I think that'd be best for all parties involved rather than just cutting him, though it'd depend on Denver's interest. But why wouldn't they be interested in a young shooter for basically free right now when they're not anywhere close to competing?

Didn't they just add Murray?  I don't think they'll want to put any roadblocks in his way to getting minutes (since both are really SGs), although Young may not be good enough to be a factor, and if he is then some competition might be nice.  I think he'd be more appealing to a team that really needs shooting and doesn't mind having a roster full of scrubs, like Philly or the Nets

How crazy would it be if Young went to the Nets. Immediately finds himself and averages 18 a game helping lead them to an unforseen run at the 8th spot while developing a beautiful inside out game with lopez. That would be the worst right?

I think I would literally cry
I'm bitter.

How great would it be if Young went to the Nets and averaged an inefficient 18 ppg while Brooklyn gets a bottom three record and earns a big contract so he can help the Nets to another bottom three finish.

If they don't finish with the worst record it is a mild upset. They couldn't even get guys like Crabbe or Johnson this offseason instead signing washed up no defense vets like Scola and Foye. I hope it is a complete trainwreck.

I know they could turn it around by getting a future LeBron/Durant type three years from now, but isn't this the closest thing to an NCAA death penalty as any NBA team has ever experienced?  The Nets suck, no one wants to play for them because other teams have lots of cap space and they won't be able to get a lottery pick for another two years.  Yeesh.

I don't think veterans care about draft picks.  The Nets just had too much competition to land anyone any good.  The truly good players went to far better teams, while the two young guys they really pursued were restricted and got matched.  Really not much they can do except try again next summer.
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah
Deep Bench - Korver, Turner

Yeah, that'd pretty much be worst case scenario. Luckily, I could see Danny trading him anywhere else besides Brooklyn just for the very off chance that he could actually help them and develop there.

They gonna waste the whole career of Lopez? He will be 29 this season and can't imagine he wants to toil away on 15-25 win teams for too many years in a row at his age.

What floor are you on?  Who is the president, Count backwards from 100 by 7's.  What is the date?

Not going to happen.
