Bear in mind: Vegas has us as the fourth most likely team to win the championship, behind GSW, Cleveland and San Antonio. If we can keep our core in tact while adding Boogie, we might become the key rivals to Golden State. They have little depth and no bigs who can compete with Boogie and Horford.

Any chance Vlade would accept JJ, Amir, Young and the following Herschel Walker-esque draft haul:

That is one starter in Johnson, one role player in Jerebko, one prospect in Young, four second-round picks and five first-round picks. In return, we get an All-NBA center who turns 26 next month. Pair him with Horford while maintaining our perimeter defense and depth, and I really do think we would have a chance to shock the world by beating Cleveland and Golden State.

Yes, we miss out on the draft the next three years, but we already have prospects coming out the yazoo: Rozier, Hunter, Jackson, Brown, Yabasule, Smart, Zizic, Bentil. Those are the young guys we develop the next three years. Next offseason, we had a good shooter in Hayward, who pretty much solidifies the team with a bunch of starters in their mid and late 20s, lessening the need for future first-round picks.

I say do it. Cash in those assets for that dominant big man who only comes around once every 5-10 years.

Can't have no 1st round picks in consecutive years - so we could trade 2017 Nets swap and 2018 Nets pick, but we'd need to keep our own 2018 pick.  Not that it changes the above scenario at all, because there's no chance the Kings ever make that trade.  They wouldn't care about the 2nds, you'd need to throw in Brown + one of Smart/Crowder/Avery I assume.

I'd be very surprised if Cousins goes in a trade at all this year.  I think we have a better shot at Westbrook if he gave Danny his word he'd sign here for the max after the season.  Also wouldn't need to give up nearly as much.

OK, change our 2018 pick for our 2019 pick. That would mean no picks in 2017 and 2019, which should still be legal, right? I hate the Stepien rule. I'll edit the original post.

Westbrook is a guard. I guess if you trade Bradley, you could try Westbrook as our SG. But there's no guarantee he re-signs (he wants to be a Laker probably) and, frankly, I do not like hero ball.

There are 2 downsides to Boogie:

1. His temperament. I will not rule him out for this. Draymond Green has many similar problems to Cousins, but Green is in a better situation. Who knows what he would be like on a bad team. Still, it is very risky trying to build a winner with a guy who can turn on anyone when he feels satisfied.

2. Moving Horford to PF greatly decreases Horford's value. I wouldn't worry to much about #2, but it is pretty clearly established that Horford is a much better asset at C.
