Now the dust has settled, I am interested to see peoples opinions on which franchise has done better and is in a better position since both teams began rebuilding from 2013-2014 NBA season.

Both teams have gone their own direction and the results are as follows:

Boston Celtics

HC: Brad Stevens

Key Players: Isaiah Thomas, Marcus Smart, Terry Rozier, Kelly Olynyk, Avery Bradley, Jae Crowder, Jaylen Brown, Guerschon Yabusele, Ante Žižić

Future Assets: 2017 first round draft pick from Brooklyn (swap, BOS outgoing), 2018 first round draft pick from Brooklyn, 2019 first round draft pick from Memphis, 2019 first round draft pick from L.A. Clippers

Philadelphia 76ers:

HC: Brett Brown

Key Players: Nerlens Noel, Jahlil Okafor, Robert Covington, Joel Embiid, Dario Saric, Ben Simmons, Timothy Luwawu

Future Assets: 2017 first round draft pick from L.A. Lakers, 2017 first round draft pick from Sacramento (swap, PHL outgoing), 2019 first round draft pick from Sacramento

Celtics

Playoff team.

Ton of picks and cap space.

A GM that has proved to be able to build a championship team.

And you forgot the LA Clipper 1st in 2019.

Thanks for catching that, I've added it.

I have honestly changed my vote twice, I can't decide because Ben Simmons is the key for them. If he wasn't on their roster it would be a landslide for Boston but he could easily be the franchise guy that both have been chasing and still eludes us.

I'd always rather the Celtics than Philly.

It's obviously us right now, but if Embiid actually stays healthy and works out, then probably Philly. That would give them two guys that are more valuable than anyone on our roster with much higher ceilings.

It will be interesting to see if Philly actually does a little better this season, though. They're still going to be a really bad team unless they turn Noel/Okafor into some competent wing/guards.
Recovering Joe Skeptic, but inching towards a relapse.

IMO, the dust is far from settled.  Ask again on Nov 1 (rosters set), and then again in late Feb 2015 (trade deadline).

Also, I think Philly started rebuilding earlier.

Wow. The C's won 48 games last season, I'm not sure the sixers have won 48 games in the last three years. The sky is falling narrative needs a reality check.

I despise what 76ers have done. It makes a mockery of sport and competition as a whole but the end game is not regular season wins, it's championships. As of now Philly has some promising guys that have more potential then our whole roster and it seems obvious that with Brown pick we are not getting a high profile free agent either so I am just saying it isn't so cut and dry that we are in a better position then 76ers.

I think Philly are better positioned but I expect Bryan Colangelo will screw it all up.
