There is room for all four on the roster. Plus Rozier.

Especially considering that Smart has the strength to play SF in a smallball lineup.

IT, Smart, and Bradley should have the lion's share of the available backcourt minutes, with Rozier and the rookie worked in for situational minutes.

I don't know. I've been pretty confident Danny wasn't gonna trade the #3 pick but now I'm hearing buzz from across the league about trading the #3 pick and Marcus Smart to Philadelphia 76ers for Jahlil Okafor. Its been said more then a few times by a few different people so its hard to ignore. I'm not 100% sold just yet but I'd keep an eye on this one.

I like the idea of

1st team Thomas and Bradley
2nd team Murray and Smart

Until the young guys are hopefully ready to take over.

Rozier and Hunter are the movable pieces.

I could see Rozier being moved for the 17th pick. He was the 16th pick a year ago and looked okay as a rookie his value should be mid round 1st while Grizz may lose Conley.

So technically they would be trading Murray / Smart for Okafor? That seems real steep.

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
I think Bradley will probably go. If we can get Kevin Love then I'd say Smart would be sent out (to my dismay).

I think the Cavs will trade us Kevin Love for Bradley or Smart+ Amir..

I'm okay with the #3 pick playing 10mpg.

If Ainge chooses a guard, it's a signal he has a deal in place to trade a guard. Whether it's the guard he's drafting or another guard.

Whether it's worth doing depends on whom he gets in the trade--and whom he trades. Trading IT doesn't net improve the offense. Trading Bradley or Smart weakens the defense, so he better get some D back.

Maybe the best option is to draft a big who can score (Chriss?), or trade the #3 for a big who can score. That's where maybe Love fits, or even Okafor, or somebody like that. That adds a scorer without weakening their backcourt--their strongest suit. I should add that Okafor is a lot cheaper than Love. Also, it's a question of inside vs outside points.

Ideally, I think they want to strengthen their frontcourt without weakening their backcourt.

We get lowballed on all these trade ideas. I'd rather see how they all pan out rather than make a move for the sake of rookie playing time. Of course if someone is willing to overpay for IT, Bradley or Smart that's different.

Avery is our most tradeable guard IMO. You see a lot of fans on other sites starting to talk about wishing they had him on their team. Saw some Rockets fans were saying he'd be the ideal backcourt partner for Harden the other day.

His contract is such a bargain too that he's got similar value to Chandler Parsons when he was still on the rookie scale. Basically a blue chip trade asset. Could easily be what puts a trade package from us over the top.
