Good idea, but I dont think having 2 centers will be a good look for us. Much rather draft someone like Brown at 7.

Denver could start a second franchise with all those picks. Seriously, both teams are probably looking for draft pick consolidation so they need to be trading picks to teams that have very few, not with each other.

Yep. Tankathon ranks DEN's pick collection as 3rd best (behind BOS and PHX, in that order).

Might be tough to find a deal between BOS and DEN that makes sense. I know he can't shoot a lick, but would definitely be interested in adding Faried. The anti-Sully.

Jokic and Nurkic aren't interchangeable, despite the phonetics.

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
Denver would never do it for Jokic.
Jokic is a potential All Star.

I wouldn't do it for Nurkic. Right now he looks like a career back up big man.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

I've seen some Nuggets fans comment that Nurkic is better on defense and just as good at pounding the glass. It seems like he's a solid prospect like Jokic and only lost his opportunity to shine because of injury. Having Poeltl would be good insurance against another injury.

Our list of options at center is short, especially if Howard is uninterested in us. Going into next season with Olynyk as our starter would be a catastrophe. We desperately need a big man who can own the paint and provide rebounds.

Nurkic straight up for the #3 seems like poor value to me. Should be more coming back for BOS.

Does anybody think Denver might agree to this:

To Denver: 3 and '18 Brooklyn (or '17 Brooklyn)

To Boston: Nurkic and 7

Denver gets to sell it to their fans that they traded Nurkic for the third overall pick whereas Danny gets to sell it as giving up a future first for a starter at center while still getting the guy we want in this year's lottery. Everyone is happy...

We could use 7 on Poeltl, solidifying center for years, and then finalize the upgrade of our frontcourt with a three-team trade with New York and Cleveland:

To Boston: Love

To Cleveland: Anthony

To New York: Bradley, Olynyk and 16, 23, 31, 35, 45, 51, 58

LeBron gets his new superteam mate, we get our all-star PF who we will use properly unlike the Cavs, Jackson and Hornacek get their rebuilding pieces. Again, everyone is happy, a prerequisite for any trade to occur.

Durant sees us as the maker and shakers of the East, so he joins us, we re-sign Turner, and we are ready to dethrone James:

1: Thomas
2: Smart
3: Durant
4: Love
5: Nurkic

Bench: Crowder, Turner, Jerebko, Poeltl, Rozier, Hunter, Mickey, Young

I hate that trade. Nurkic isnt a greek God, hes a solid center prospect. Brooklyn 17 projects to be a better pick than #7 this year.

He's got the size of a Greek God, knows how to get rebounds and defend the paint in the NBA, and he's only 21 (and only started playing basketball when he was 14). In other words, he's got what we need now, unlike the future first-round picks we have...
