LA blogs have been wishing and hoping for this all year. Apparently he is a CA native and rumor is he wanted to be a Laker .
They will sign two or three stars with all their cap space.
It really sucks--but the Lakers have lots of options for a quick turnaround now...Let's just hope Jim Buss makes the wrong decisions...he usually does.
Derozan may go there because he is from there, and they might possibly trade for someone else using one of their prospects and their pick, though I think we have the advantage in any trade talks for stars given our assets. However, they're not getting two other max stars next year, too.
You have to have a strong supporting cast around your main guys. If not, you end up with several excellent max-level players and a bunch of scrubs. Look no further than the LA Clippers situation to see how that works out. They can't get anywhere in the playoffs because they have no supporting cast after paying three max-level contracts that are questionable fits anyways. So, no, they're not getting Durant, Westbrook, Derozan, and Cousins on the same team along with Randle, unless they plan on playing with a bunch of D-Leaguers off of the bench or those guys take some major pay-cuts, which isn't happening.
