Yes.

Had we simply made our FTs, it wouldn't have been a game.

If we had Crowder and the refs didn't baby the Warriors, we would have won by 20.

I'm not so sure I agree, starting Jae and removing Turner from the mix last night could have changed the entire dynamic of the game.
Turner was key to the win last night.

Danny should definitely get executive of the year.

So who are the candidates?

Popovich, obviously. Every year.

I think Kerr is out since he missed half of the season and the team performed historically good with Walton on the bench. And they're not giving it to Walton.

This award usually isn't actually about the best coach but more about the team that overperformed expectations the most. I think the teams that most exceeded expectations were Charlotte and Portland so Steve Clifford and Terry Stotts are going to be in the mix.

And then there's Stevens. I'd say he's got as god of a chance as Pop, Clifford, or Stotts. I wouldn't be surprised if voter fatigue excluded Pop and then it just went to the coach who wins the most games out of the other 3.

I think it's between Stevens and Stotts, depending on how each team finishes up the regular season.

If the Warriors get the wins record I think Kerr will take it.

Certainly deserves consideration but I think it'd be borderline insane to hand it to anyone besides Pop or Walton/Kerr.   Heck, even Stevens admits that.

I disagree. This award has traditionally went to teams that overachieved, see Atlanta last year. And I think there's a pretty easy argument to make that Stevens has more influence on his team's success than almost any other coach. Talent wins in the NBA, and both the Spurs and Warriors have three times as much pure talent on their roster as Boston.

That being said, I can see Clifford and Casey being competitors, though, because they've been similarly successful with less talent, more Clifford in Charlotte than Casey in Toronto.

I just don't get this argument, though. He's only coached half the season, and Walton deserves just as much credit as he does. To me, this doesn't say that both of them are just otherworldly coaches that deserve the recognition. Rather, to me this says that their team is just so well-rounded and playing at such a high level that even an assistant coach can come in and coach them to victory.

The Warriors were running Kerr's system.

If they break the record he should still get coach of the year even though he missed a part of the season.

I think the GS win helps.  But I also think the Celtics need to grab the 3 seed to give Stevens a very competitive case.  As great as that win was, it was one win.
