whatever the case is,  hopefully this helps our chances to get a high draft pick

Johnson to Cavs is what I predict.    Johnson just come off the bench for 10 min and give the cavs 6-8 pts .  Rest and enjoy the ride

Joe has already won a game maybe two with last sec clutch shot .....about all he is good for .....still a decent shooter at times.....he can cost us losses

So this might help the cause a little in the long run.

Lopez is the big difference

Joe is shooting lights out the last couple months.  I hope we get him.  His size would make for some interesting lineup options.

There aren't that many minutes to go around, are there? Bradley, Smart, Crowder, Turner...would Crowder wind up playing a lot of PF?

Precisely my concern.

The only way we can find minutes for him is if we put him at PF or move Crowder to PF.  Neither idea makes a lick of sense given how undeniably overbloated we are in the frontcourt already.

He makes little sense except as an injury repacement insurance option for Turner.  Like the David Lee scenario all over again - what's the use of talent of you have no opportunity to use it?

Would be like our Troy Murphy 2.0, our new has-been former star who can no longer play, but his name looks cool on or roster.

Can JJ actually help anyone anymore?

Which team can he help?

Any that are smart enough to get him....
Which us why Cleveland, OKC, Atl and Boston want him....

We should have moved David Lee for him.

He has helped Brooklyn win a number of games.
Glad they waived him. One less scorer for Brooklyn.

Joe has alot left. Would be a huge help in a playoff series for us.

Last year we really had trouble from the wing position.

And Expect IT to be less effective in half court sets in the playoffs, which is a major part of our scoring.

Stevens, could use Joe Johnson effectively.

well, whatever he might bring on offense would hopefully makeup for his poor defense.

he has exactly 2 blocked shots in 1934 minutes of nba basketball this season. TWO! how in the Edited.  Profanity and masked profanity are against forum rules and may result in discipline. can anyone play 1934 minutes, average 34 minutes/game, be 6' 7" and have only two blocks? he is tied for 265th in the league in blocked shots.

also, he averages 0.7 steals a game. that puts him at 148th in the nba.

i suppose under CBS, in the right situations he might make a difference in a game or two. maybe, i guess, i suppose. but i just cant get too excited over the corpse of joe johnson joining the celtics.

Alright Joey, I know on draft day we made you pose with a Celtics basketball from a local Sunoco gas station, then later in the season we shipped you out of town for a mid season rental, but things are much different now. It's time to come home. Full circle, baby!

He would absolutely help.  His ability to hit clutch shots at the end of games could potentially take this year's team to another level if they can integrate him quickly enough.  I just don't see Boston being either his first or 2nd choice.

What kind of contract can they sign him to?  Can they do a multi year?

That might be the only thing that might entice him.  I'd take him in a Boston uniform for the next couple of seasons.  Add him and I think you just need to deal with the rebounding issue up front_ figuring that one of those draft picks gives you JJ's replacement or maybe Young/Hunter becomes that guy.

With the cap due to raise $20 Million over the next 2 seasons, he probably wouldn't sign a multi-year deal anytime before this summer.
