The warriors basically extended everyone for a max contract, so why not Barnes. They essentially got a dynasty brewing over there the way their contracts are set up.
Because they might want to sign Kevin Durant so that makes Barnes expendable and clears some salary space for that purpose.
Tbh, I'm on the same boat as Bill Simmons, as they are constructed now, why do they even need KD? Why break the chemistry of the team up for a chance to be as good as they are now. Currently they are on pace to be the best team in NBA history, why mess with that now?
You're telling me you wouldn't sign KD??? Worst case scenario they're like the Lakers with Kobe and Shaq and ONLY win 3 titles together. Best case scenario they gel well and create one of the best dynasties of all time. Seriously a lineup of Curry, Klay, KD, Green, Bogut is unstoppable. You can't not sign KD if he wants to sign with you. Period.
CB Mock Deadline - Minnesota Timberwolves
Kemba Walker / Tyus Jones / Aaron Brooks
Jimmy Butler / Jamal Crawford / Treveon Graham
Rodney Hood / Nic Batum / Marcus Georges Hunt
Taj Gibson / Nemanja Bjelica / Jonas Jerebko
KAT / Derrick Favors / Cole Aldrich
Picks - 2018 CHA 1st (Lotto protected), none out

they are unstoppable as is. KD introduces a possibility the team will fall apart. Any other team than GSW, KD makes them better. As is they are a dynastic team, set to surpass any, and all records. (well except the Celtics records)

I think if you can't imagine the W's being any better by adding KD, it's just a failure of your imagination.

The only reason you wouldn't sign KD? Because you feel sorry for all the other teams in the league.

You don't know what lineups are unstoppable until you see guys play together.

One thing GS does NOT need is less shots for Curry. Difficult decision.

Just like doing repairs to strengthen physical structures sometimes makes them collapse. Changing things that work always has risk.
