I think they'll trade the pick. If we get lucky and get #1, Philly will probably be at #2 (because they have the worst record) and a trade should happen.

Celtics trade: #1
Philly trade: #2, Noel

We already know Noel and Okafor don't work together, but Simmons and Okafor would be a dream combination. If Embiid can get healthy they'll be set for bigs for years, but even if he doesn't, they'll still have their starting front court of the future. The celtics get two great pieces that perfectly fit their roster. A scoring wing and a rim-protecting center.

Smart/IT
AB/Hunter
Ingram/Crowder
Sully/Mickey
Noel/KO

That's a pretty good lineup before free agency even starts.

said it before, will say it again

after all the bad luck the Cs have had in the lottery since 97 (or really 86), if we ever actually won the #1 overall pick and did anything with it OTHER than draft the year-long highly touted franchise guy, the National Guard would need to be called in for the rioting that would happen in the streets of Beantown
