I wonder if James Young should try modeling his shot selection after Ray Allen's?

By this I mean work on coming off double and triple picks to find shots closer to the foul line. This might work better than frequently taking 3-pointers, long twos, or driving the lane as he often does when playing for the Celtics. These shots are tough even for most veteran players.

Taking threes and driving the lane has worked well for him in the D-League, but not so well in Beantown.

My thinking is that he'd find his shooting stroke more frequently if he wasn't always waiting around to find open long shots or driving to the hoop.

Yes, Ray shot a lot of 3's, but that's not all he was noted for.  He was tough with closer range shots too.
