I don't get how Young can score at ease in the D-League, but in summer league he struggled. Our Rooks out played him in Las Vegas. Then in preseason he should do well against the other teams scrubs, but did just okay.

I want the kid to do well, but and it still may take an other year, but when does that start getting into his head and he can't perform on the big stage?

I have a feeling he's going to be a chip using the D-League to make him look promising. Hunter has already surpassed him, yes he's older, but he has way more game than Young does right now. Right now if I had to pick between Young or Hunter to go forward with, it would be Hunter.

Mickey DA should hold on to unless a great deal pops up and Mickey has to be part of it, not sure who would do that so it's safe to say Mickey should be here for a couple more years. Just need a consistent 18 footer.
Have you ever seen a D-League game before? They are playing absolutely no defense whatsoever. No surprise that Young has such an easy time scoring points against D-League teams. I even remember Pressey(!!!) scoring 29 points on his debut in the league ::)

Hopefully, some of this logjam with the bigs will be cleared up by the trading deadline.  Would like to see Mickey eventually get some run although I think the team is doing the right thing right now getting him minutes in D-League

Young?  I don't have much hope for.

  • Peace it's a board. We all will never agree.
Young has the stroke you don't give up on. Mickey has the hop you can't teach. They both are great YOUNG assets.

mickey is the perfect back up plan and insurance for the next 4 years
can develop in the d-league but also can get on the bench if our bigs get hurt or get traded

Wow ......Pressey with 29 ..LOL .....every shot must have been wide open .   He couldn't make a shot in a game to save his life.

The intensity and pressure cooker is on turned up by a factor of 10X in a regular season NBA .

The D League needs to find ways to make the teams play more defense or reward for defense intensity.

I decided to look up the box score of the game where Pressey debuted for the Red Claws, and in 40 minutes of play, he managed to score 34 points, dish out 9 assists, grab seven rebounds and get three steals :o!

Personally, I don't think that the D-League will ever get close to the competitive level of the NBA given their problems of attracting good players. If I'm not mistaken I actually read that the maximum salary that a D-League team can offer a player is 25k a year, which obviously says a lot about the quality of the league.
