Does the NBA have an agreement like European soccer where the worst team gets demoted? Perhaps after back to back seasons winning a combined 37 games they will be forced to play as the Philadelphia Liberty for a year?

How would that rule affect us again? We haven't been the worst team.

That liberty ballers article is pretty interesting. It makes a reference to what they did with Andre K. However, I couldn't find exactly what they did other than just trade him and have him never play. Did he want to be cut/bought out and they refused? What exactly happened there that could have been illegal.

I guess the biggest more serious takeaway from this all is that if agents and players really do feel like the 76ers are bad to deal with it could really hurt their negotiations or chances of getting a free agent around the line. If this really ends up being over a million dollars here or there or things related to second round draft choices that is the definition of the expression "penny wise and pound foolish"

I think with Kirilenko there was a wink wink deal that he would be pretty much instantly waived, but they held on to his contract instead and released him a while later.
