The league's office can and has suspended players for insubordination. As much as a player might like going to a winning situation, they enjoy not getting suspended without pay just as much, if not by their team, then by the league.

Teams deal with disgruntled RFAs who make public appeals for their original teams not to match offer sheets they've signed with other teams, they can deal with disgruntled stars who are under contract wanting to force their way out. There's too much money at stake to try pulling any NFL-style holdouts.

When can offseason trades start going down?
i'm pretty sure that teams who aren't in the playoffs can make trades now
I trust Danny Ainge

I'm sure someone else must have mentioned this, I received a Celtic email this evening suggesting Danny could be making a move towards contacting the Kings about Cousins, and soon.

Fasten your seat belts, it's going to get interesting fast.

if we get Cousins, we're a lock for the playoffs next year.

I'd trade 3 first rounders for him, plus any collection of young talent not named Smart or Isaiah Thomas. I'm not familiar with Sacto's cap situation but I'd eat a bad contract too.

Something like a
BOS: Sully+Zeller+Turner+3 1st rounders
SAC: Cousins+Bad Contract+2nd rounder

Hard to find as much value as that, IMO.

Sully to me, is at least worth a 10th pick, I'll give them him and 2 first instead of 3. Matter of fact,  I think I could get a late first for Turner and Zeller each, so maybe I try to get one for one of them and use it so Karl/Sacto can pick their own player instead of talking them into taking one of them.

Yea, that's still 3 firsts technically, but it's just taken from trading Z/ET and in a rebuild like Sacto is going to be in, the pick is more valuable.

Nah, you know what, I would give them Sully or KO, Z or ET, Clips 28, and 2 of ours/BKN 1sts.

OR

Sully or KO, 28 and 16, 2 future 1sts. I'll even let them have a choice of the better pick for one of the 1sts next season. They aren't getting both '16s if I can help it but I could see myself giving in if I was pressed. Sadly I can't use the RR TE. LOL that's 4 first but 28 is nothing.

I want to keep Smaht/AB/IT4/Jae/KO or Sully for sure.

Wait, forget it, Cousins might be too expensive. I would love to get him but we'd probably have to give up too much and end up being a bad team with him causing him to bolt first chance he gets.

I just realized, to my bones, I'm glad I'm a fan and not a GM! I SUCK AT THIS!
It takes me 3hrs to get to Miami and 1hr to get to Orlando... but I *SPIT* on their NBA teams! "Bless God and bless the (Celts)"-Lady GaGa (she said gays but she really meant Celts)
