Random, but not unrelated idea: David Lee for Gerald Wallace. Maybe Boston could even squeeze another 2015 pick (#30) out of GSW.

Huge talent upgrade for Boston, especially on offense.

Golden State trims $5 mil off next year's books. Could then potentially stretch Wallace, opening up another $7 mil or so for resigning Draymond Green.

  • I'm a Paul Heyman guy.
The Dubs will match any offer Green would get in FA. They would be willing to go over the tax for next year as long as it fields them a championship contending team.

There's probably no one on this forum who loves and followed Draymond Green as much as I do (living in SF helps), but unless we give the farm, there's no way we would get Draymond. No way.

better off just re-signing Crowder.  If you think back to last year, he's almost the exact same player as Green was when he was stuck behind DLee.

Minus Green's actual offensive skills at the game of basketball?

Draymond Green, Kawhi Leonard, Jimmy Butler and Tobias Harris will all probably get max deals from their current teams. If Harris leaves it would probably be New York because he loves them. Brandon Knight will likely sign with Phoenix for the max as well. And Greg Monroe will probably get a max deal from somewhere. I think Gasol and Deandre Jordan will resign for max. Aldridge will get a max either in Portland or if he leaves he will still get it in San Antonio I think. We should focus on realistic targets such as Khris Middleton.

I'd agree with pretty much all of this. I even think Middleton could get the max from a team looking to steal him away from the Bucks.

I do think the term "market max" will be borne out this offseason.

Bill Simmons  ;D

It wouldn't even surprise me that much if Milwaukee matched a max offer because trading Knight makes them not close to the luxury tax.

Could be a tough call for Milwaukee though with Giannis Antetokounmpo and Jabari Parker occupying those spots. Jabari has already stated he wants to be a career Buck being that it's 50 miles from his home town Chicago and is Antetokumpo really the biggest threat to bolt for a big market?

It could be even more likely if they can play well with together, which is entirely possible being that their game's are fairly complimentary and Jason Kidd will be there to figure out how to make it work.

Kris Middleton is probably a top 35-50ish player right now but with so much talent already invested on the wing it might not be in Milwaukee's best interest to tie up more money at that spot, especially considering that the team is currently starting Zaza Pachulia at Center. Their need is a 5 is arguably bigger than ours.

Parker and Antetokounmpo play as forwards; Middleton primarily plays shooting guard.

Not saying it's urgent and they need to break up a logjam but all three could be max contract guys and they might need to allocate those resources into the PG/PF/C spots. Middleton is kind of found money for them, he was a throw in of a larger deal that worked out in a big way. Not out of the question that they'd baulk at a max or near max contract.

No we shouldn't
Draymond is a starter , I wouldn't go on to say he is a star player
He is probably going to get overpaid cuz of this season
Best to steer clear of overpaying a player
