Did Winslow really make that big of a jump this tournament? Is he really the clear pick over Stanley Johnson now?

Yep.

To me, yes.  Mind you, they were pretty near each other heading into the tournament.  Johnson was ranked higher, but Winslow was ranked next, and both ranked high overall. So it's not a huge leap, just a swap.  Winslow showed he had superstar potential (potential being a key word).  Not sure we've seen that from Johnson.

I like Winslow because when the game is tight and shots aren't falling, his response is to drive to the rim and make things happen.  Too many players look for the jump shot in these situations -- Winslow has a fine jumper, but his instinct is to attack, and you just don't see that instinct too often from players who can shoot.

Of course, Johnson attacks the hoop a lot too.  But when it's tight, he becomes a shooter.  I do think it's close between them, and wouldn't be shocked if Johnson went ahead of Winslow, but to me, Winslow has passed him, and it is because of the tourney.

Definitely. Both will be top 10 picks, but Winslow moved into top 5. Teams really liked him before the tourney, he was just hurt and wasn't showing much. The tourney just confirmed pre-conceived notions that he was an undervalued stock and thus the huge rise. No one was surprised by Winslow's tourney performance

Ainge has just about reached the limits of the asset-collection phase of the rebuild, and he has a really nice collection of supporting players. He must know it is now time to focus on exchanging assets to get a couple of real stars.

I don't see the C's staying put with their current picks, because the chances of nabbing a star are small. We aren't really building more value by adding more solid contributor level players at this point.

I think he knows there are players with a realistic chance of becoming superstars in this draft: Okafor, Towns, Russell, Winslow and maybe Mudiay, and a super role player in WCS that would help almost as much as a star. I see us either trading up for one of these guys, or trading the choices.

Crowder is a very nice player to keep, but Ainge knows his priorities and will move him if he has to to get a star.

We will probably trade out of the draft, especially if we make the playoffs. We don't need Kris Dunn or whomever taking up a roster spot playing small minutes before busting out of the league. We need to start getting some real stars. Trade the picks for future firsts and focus on trades and free agency..

I'd want him back as a backup SF. This is a glue guy, brings energy day in and day out. Him and Smart needs to be part of the cornerstone going forward imo

If we draft them then either trade crowder and turner
or keep crowder as a bench guy (crowder is a solid player and hustles on both ends)

Really?

I love what Crowder brings but if we somehow (not going to happen) get either of those guys, he's gone.

Do people realize we are in the 8th spot and still in the race to make the playoffs? Please stop teasing us with the idea of drafting these guys.
The Nets will finish with the worst record and the Celtics will end up with the 4th pick.
