I love CBS's creative lineups. I like how he constantly tinkers to see if a group of players can gain a unique chemistry.
Tonight against the Heat, the Celtics started the 4th quarter with four tweener forwards and Marcus Smart (a versatile player without a position yet). It was Jerebko, Olynyk, Datome, Wallace, and Smart. After a few minutes, he replaced Wallace with Crowder. Here are my notes.
1. They really struggled to get into a rhythm, especially on offense.
2. CBS must really trust Smart, because he was the only true ball-handler on the court.
3. Olynyk became the second ball-handler in their offense. Datome played in the corner, Jerebko ran the picks, Wallace (Crowder) was a wing, but Olynyk played the other off-guard position.
4. If Smart can become a consistent offensive shot creator (points/assists), then that lineup really interesting offensive potential.
As the Heat inched closer down to the 8-9 minute mark, was anyone else begging their TV for CBS to put Thomas back in?
