He had one game about a month and a half ago where he scored something like 13 points.  Then, he's been pretty much been invisible from what I've seen up.  That was until last night.

Let's see what the kid can and cannot do over longer stretches.  Maybe he needs another year or two to develop both mentally and physically.

Oh jesus, look at all the comments :) It's not that I don't want to give the guy no chance, those are just observations I had watching him a bit more closely.

I see the potential and I truely hope he will be our starting 2 in the future. Just slightly doubting if he has the right mindset. Was just wondering if you guys mentioned the same. I guess I followed him too much...

Let's just say he will be an allstar in 3 years then :)

if you post it, they will come. that is the point of a starting a thread, no?

to me, your choice of topic is fine. perhaps a bit more "homework" or framing/positioning of your points would have saved us from some of the more egregious comments.

just a thought.
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

Or not and you develop him and let him turn into a 6'6" SG similar to Nick Young, who BTW was taken 16th whereas James was taken 17th.

He's got a 7' wingspan and and 8' standing reach.  The kid is long and young.  Nick was 22 in his rookie season, James is 19.

Or Young has a far higher ceiling to me than Young...

I believe Young was drafted by one of the best organizations possible. CBS is going to do wonders for him, because Young is a smart and talented player. Athletically he doesn't jump out of the gym, but he has enough to make an impact offensively.

When I type "James Young hyp..." into Google, its only autocomplete suggestion is "James Young hypertension."

Far and away my biggest pet peeve about fans.  A guy stinks, so trade him.  Like other teams are in the market to give us better value for our stinky players.

Nobody ever ever wants to trade a good player.

I was kind of impressed with Young not chucking it and try to fit into the offense moving the ball. He seems to want to understand the system. He does make a bunch of mistakes but as a rook with very low amount of PT isn't that expected? And how on Earth does anyone consider trading a guy in his rookie season because they are worried he isn't playing great as a rookie? Hello, he is a rookie.

It seems like more and more people expect rookies, second year players, etc to come into the NBA fully formed. There is such little allowance for allowing players to learn, grow, etc. I don't get it at all. So much rushing to judgement based on tiny sample sizes and a belief that players don't learn, adapt, change, grow. So weird to me. The history of The NBA is the history of players developing into what they became. Allow a little time (especially on a team like The Celtics that is all about development and the future).
