I bet most people here would rather have Giannis than Dieng

I could be wrong though
I trust Danny Ainge

There are several other possibilities. I was trying to find a rim protector center

Butler, Bradley G Smart PG Thomas, Pressey and piles of future DP
may we open this to other nba teams as well?

for example, when looking at the abysmal draft record of the san antonio spurs:
2002 drafted Salmons, did not draft Carlos Boozer, Luis Scola.
2003 drafted Leandrinho Barbosa, did not draft Kyle Kover.
2004 drafted Beno Udrih, did not draft Anderson Varejao or Trevor Ariza.
2005 drafted Ian Mahinmi, did not draft Brandon Bass, Ersan Ilyasova, Ryan Gomes.
2007 drafted Tiago Splitter, did not draft Carl Landry, Marc Gasol.
2008 drafted George Hill, did not draft DeAndre Jordan, Omar Asik.
2010 drafted James Anderson, did not draft Lance Stephenson, Jordan Crawford.
2011 drafted Cory Joseph, did not draft Jimmy Butler, Chandler Parsons, Bogan Bogdanovic.

the spurs missed on butler, gasol, landry, jordan, varejao, bass, boozer, kover and how many others? this is inexcusable!!!! why haven't the GM been fired? the coach? the scouts?

clearly the "leadership" of the spurs is incapable of drafting well, thereby dooming the franchise to year after year of horrific losing!!!!!!!!!! only firing them all will solve this problem!!!!!!!!! (did i add enough exclamation points??????)

guys and gals, if we are going to use 20/20 hindsight as our basis for judging GMs, none of them are going to survive. let's be more realistic of how hard it is to judge the talent of 19 year college players. it is not wrong to criticize bad choices, but always let's put our thoughts in a larger context.
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

This was not an attack on DA . I was only stating that you need to get lucky with your picks, as well as doing your research. Go back to 2008 to see tons of misses .

Yeah but some of these guys that went later than they should have had some warning signs

Like deandre Jordan he was physically dominant and athletic but in college he put up mediocre stats for someone with his abilities and there were questions about his work ethic

Also team needs also can explain draft choices as we had back to back picks in 2012 and drafted sully who was a top 10 prospect coming in but had a red flag due to his back. We drafted melo cuz we needed a C that year and had already taken a guy with question marks.

Isaiah Thomas had question marks about his size and age

So obviously the draft is a gamble and we all don't know what can happen in the future

Not that this matters but I would take Tiago splitter over Carl Landry
