Man I love Chris Bosh (even during his Raptors time). I'll admit that I lost respect for the guy when he defected Toronto for Miami to team up with LeBron and Wade. But he's been showing to me that he was the "lone wolf" character in the Heat- not affiliated with the clowns of James and Wade. The guy payed hard, competitive, and passionate. He could've left for Houston, but decided to stick with Miami and not pull a LeBron. His respect for me went up great the year after they lost to Dallas. Although he may have been an enemy for the Celtics back when they were relevant, I still praised him for his moves.

Blood clot in the lungs sounds like a serious matter. I really hope he gets it treated. Maybe lowering cholesterol might help in the process of treatment long-term. But hoping for a speedy recovery!

Terrible news, feel bad for the guy. This is a serious, life threatening issue, I wish him well.

Last month, Brooklyn forward Mirza Teletovic was ruled out for the season once clots were found on his lungs. Cleveland's Anderson Varejao went through a similar situation and missed most of the 2012-13 season.

This paragraph from the article really raised my eyebrows.

I don't want to question Bosh's integrity, as I've always liked him as a player (only guy I could stand on that LeBron Heat team), but surely this has got to raise suspicions about EPO use in the NBA.  These guys are supposed to be supremely healthy young men, and thrombosis incidence is known to be strongly correlated with age.  It also happens to be one of EPO's leading side effects.

Generally, my position on PEDs is mostly apathetic, as long as they are used responsibly and don't endanger anyone's health.  But if this really is evidence of systemic PED abuse to the point of life-threatening complications and the NBA is ignoring it, that is really inexcusable.
