its obviously very early to be looking forward to the next draft, but i like Jaylen Brown and i like D'angelo Russell this year. I know everyone wants a center but i dont think anyone in the next few years is going to be special. Jahlil Okafor is going to be a good player.. nothing more than Big Al. Willie Cauley Stein doesnt seem like he has the mentality to anchor a championship defense. I think its always a bad idea to go into a draft looking for a certain position. Just get the player most likely to be great. D'angelo Russell has star written all over him and Jaylen Brown is an athlete with offensive skill and defensive chops. Looks like a more explosive Joe Johnson. I wouldnt mind going forward with this backcourt:
pg D'Angelo Russell
sg Marcus Smart
sf Jaylen Brown
We can figure out the bigmen later
I agree with you on Brown and Russell. They have 'All Star' written all over them. Just two guys that the game comes to naturally. Although I wouldn't complain if we got Okafur- I do think he's slightly over rated and to say he's a franchise piece just isn't true because he hasn't proven himself to be anything near that on defense- which is where true franchise centers are born.
If we landed say, the 6th pick this year, then Russell is my guy. Assuming we'll be terrible again next year, I'd love Brown too at the SF spot.
Smart, Russell, Brown, would be a very nasty trio.
