The Celtics should trade another one of their veterans in order to obtain a potentially capable youth as opposed to another draft pick. The Boston Celtics should trade veteran shooting forward Marcus Thornton and swallow $4,000,000 of his $8,600,000 contract in exchange for the Portland Trail Blazers Meyers Leonard. Marcus Thornton will not be here next year! Meyers Leonard is a 7'1" center , is 22 years old, is very intelligent (Honored as Academic All-Big Ten at University of Illinois) and able to provide to an already talented youth group being established in the Celtics future (i.e. Jae Crowder). The Trail Blazers are in need of a small forward off the bench that can score at any given moment as they are thin at this position. Mayers Leonard spends most of his time on the bench backing up Chris Kaman and Robin Lopez. This move would benefit both teams and should be done before the trade deadline! Thank you for voting and always be sure to honor, represent, and bleed green!!!

Like Leonard's game, but Coach Stevens is doing a fine job with Zeller...not sure if Meyers would be a good fit here at this point.

5.6 PPG   4.4 RPG and .2 BPG are Leonard's stats in 14 MPG.   I think he would give us more size but the lack of shot blocking would be a concern.  His foul shooting is what impressing me the most.

Athletically he is on the level of Zeller

I would not mind us seeing us get a young prospect but one that would help us win games would defeat the tanking mission which I think is the goal.

I agree with Zeller too, however they could find a roster spot for Meyers Leonard that would include both. There will competition for every player at every position and that should certainly hold true for the Center position! Stevens will shine on this process! Any others suggestions on how we should appoach Marcus Thornton would be great,  as I would be disappointed to see him go for nothing; as we might have to deal with Gerald Wallace "dragging the (financial) waters some more"! We're in great shape, however we (Danny) shouldn't and won't stop now!!!

i see two possible advantages to such a deal:

1. thornton and salary are ejected from the celtics.
2. bigs are often easier to trade than high priced guards. i am sure danny could get a second rounder for leonard, probably more.

leonard cant block shots, but he can shoot. good fg%, ft%, and even 3pt%. he shot 46.9% in 32 attempts from three point land.

is this worth the subsidized cost of moving thornton? i dont know.

I wish we would have done something like this last year with Rudy Gobert. It sucks that Utah has no need for veterans.

I would do KO or Sully for Gobert. Its time to take a chance and I don't know how much better KO or Sully is going to get

Zeller needs to start taking threes.

He would be much more valuable then.

He is pretty good little shooter 12 ft and in,   I like to see him take MORE shots and AB. And Smart set him up like Rondo used to do for Bass.

Zeller can get his little 12 foot jumpers off nearly anytime he wants because of height .

Zeller should take the ball out futher more ,  then shoot of dump to Sully or KO breaking to the rim.
