I've been sitting back reading for a while, and there are many different opinions on BS as a coach. I tend to like him. I think he gets the most out of what he's got. My real purpose for this tread though is to have a question answered.

Do you think Brad Stevens will coach a Celtics team in the playoffs? Will he get this opportunity? How long is Danny committed to him?

I personally would like to see him with a successful team some day.

personally I like his coaching, but sometimes he frustrates me with some of his subs and minutes given to certain players. I credit him for making Jordan Crawford worth something and good enough to trade him off. I don't blame him for our record, and also don't blame Danny. He is gutting the team so Stevens really have no talent to work with. Now that Rondo and Green is gone, this team is only going to keep going down. I don't want to judge Stevens until he has legit talent to work with. I also think Danny will be patient with him after giving him a 6-7 year deal (someone confirm). It means he is committed and understands that through this rebuild, we are expecting the record that we have now.

I don't see Stevens being fired before his contract is up.

I'm not sure I see the Celtics making the playoffs before then, though.

I like him a lot and think he's 1 of the few positives we have right now.  I think he plays people sometimes the way he does to "evaluate" and not necessarily to win a game.  Which is fine by me with this team.

I think Stevens has some clear strong qualities, but he is a very inexperienced coach and it shows. We are in the perfect opportunity to let him learn the NBA along with this young roster, and I think we'll keep him around until he is coaching in the playoffs.

I think his biggest weakness is that he overreacts to his own predicament. Yes, he's coaching a weak roster with no superstars, but it seems like he never knows when he actually does have a mismatch. There are situations where Sullinger or Turner or Olynyk are actually impossible for the opponent to match up with, and I would like to see Stevens just go with a mismatch until the other team finds a way to deal with it, instead of sticking to the same offense regardless of opponent, or just subbing out his best guy for a situation.
