boston trade tyzer zeller jeff green jameer nelson
to wizards
for a 1st round pick and 2nd round picks, + rice jr., martell webster, dejuan blair
is that a good or bad trade?
I'll answer that question with a question==>why would you think this is a good trade for Boston?
Boston's giving up a better than average starting SF (by today's standards) and their starting C who's proving to be at least a quality backup C for a good team as well as an ok backup PG on a low cost contract.
FOR
1 very late first round pick. No year mentioned so assuming 2015
1 late second round pick. we're already getting their second rounder this year based on their current record. 2016 perhaps? in any case the pick will be so late it'll be a miracle if Danny gets someone who'll ever play in the NBA.
1 project SG when we already have a plethora of SGs that are ahead of this kid on the depth chart
1 undersized C who's having a down year (and he's honestly undersized for a PF too)
1 journeyman SF who we'd be looking to move somehow.
in short, C's are giving up the best player by far and arguably the best 2 players. not seeing the point of this trade. is it to make the team much worse to improve our own lottery odds? is it to acquire yet another late first rounder that will be used to either draft a player worse than what we're giving up or to use in a deal that will ultimately be for a player who's no better than what we're giving up?
