We have a higher winning percentage without Rondo than with him over the last three years.

Rondo ranked 29th, 26th, and 31st in PER for all point guards over the last three years.

Trade him now, while he still has some value.

In 2011-2012 we won 39 out of 66 games. That's above 50%.

In 2012-13 Rondo played 38 games. But of course, count the games that we won when he was hurt and just imply that if he was playing all of those wins will be loses, right?

2013-14, he played 30 games, this time with a much inferior roster than last year. Again, let's count the wins where he didn't play and just assume that when he does, all those games wins be loses, correct?

This year he played 18 games, again with a bad rosters. But while I give the benefit of the doubt that the Celtics with Rondo may do well with a rim protector, I'd give you this one.

The other three though, one is already debunked. The other two, you'd have a point if Rondo plays atleast 75% of games and we have a losing record, but he didnt. He could have easily been part of those wins if he played more games.

2011-12
w/out Rondo
8 wins 5 losses
win percentage 62%

with
31 wins 22 losses
win percentage 58%

2012-13
w/out Rondo
21 wins 17 losses
win percentage 55%

with
20 wins 23 losses
win percentage 46%

2013-14
w/out Rondo
19 wins 33 loses
win percentage 36%

with
6 wins 24 losses
win percentage 20%

Could you go a little more in depth than this? For instance, in 13-14, we were 10-12 at one point in time and then lost 12 of our last 14 before Rondo came back. What was the reason for the big change? Why was the team so much worse at times than it was at other times? The difference can't be Rondo, he wasn't in the lineup yet. What was it?

Similarly, in 2013 we won 7 of 9, lost 8 of 10, won 6 straight, lost 6 straight, won 7 straight and then lost 4 of 6. What was the cause of all this inconsistency? What kept changing? What were the reasons for all of the good and bad streaks?

Don't worry, he won't.  Its the same "copy & paste" story we've seen time & time again lately without any further follow-up dialogue.

Here's the Rondo story in a nut shell.

Rondo is a basketball enigma, he's great at some facets of the game, and flat out terrible at others.

As great as a passer as he is, he's a terrible shooter. As great a ball handler as he is, he leans towards dominating the ball as he handles it. As good a rebounder as he is, his free throw shooting sucks, and will effect you negatively in close games. He really can defend, when he really feels like it.

When a player has a skill set like this, extremely positive and extremely negative, he will always cause extreme controversy. What bothers me about Rondo... his attitude is 83.5% suspect.

Whats up with Rondo??

Not only is he ineffective with less than 5 min, I'm noticing a pattern that he turns over the ball at the worse moments of the game and helps the opposing team seal the deal.

I don't want to keep hearing him say, "It's on me" . Then say i'm in the same league as Lebron and Durant which is absolutely a joke btw.

Slowly i'm going to stop blaming Rondo and CBS should be the guy that needs to be blamed for putting out Rondo with less than 5. How many times have we lost close games this way?

The whole team played mediocre tonight but Rondo is the highest paid player on the team. He carries the ball up court and needs to do more than hand it off to the guy next to him.

I couldn't ask for a better Rondo this year play great but not too great. Build your value but don't win us games.

Unfortunately too many teams tanking we can't do it as well as the other teams no matter what. Might be better to try and get 8th seed and make some playoff cash with getting the young guys experience.

Teams in the east aren't even tanking and are bad. Even after last night the C's have the 6th best SRS in the east which is nuts.

Nets/Pistons/Hornets for example....

Saw something crazy on Twitter last night (not sure before or after last night's games) how Toronto is 10 games above .500 and 1st in the East while Dallas is 10 games over .500 and 7th in the West.

Talk about lack of competitive balance between the conferences these days.

Yeah you are right it's not all tanking. There are some really bad teams this year.

I love Rondo. Even if he sucks, I'd have a hard time saying I want to trade him. So to be clear, I am not raising this question out of a desire to trade him.

No idea if they're interested or would be willing trade partners... but if so, would he be a good fit in Houston?
