We wiffed on Asik, and Affalo. Failed to go after jordan hill, let lance stephenson go and signed avery and Tyler. I think this organization is fully focused on a rebuild, and I don't mind at all, as long as that's the goal and I dont have to keep hearing about a situation brewing again like in 2007-2008 where Danny trades away all the good talent. I'm ready to watch a nice young team develop.
I completely disagree I think the wyc and danny are still in the mindset of trying to make this team a legitimate contender this season or next. otherwise we probably would have probably traded Rondo to sacramento already.
the only reasons to not trade Rondo now are because we still have dreams of this. or because we think we can get more for Rondo at the deadline if he plays well.
there is no reason to keep Rondo if we're rebuilding because he likely won't want to stay, he's really not worth a max deal on a team in transition. keeping him past the deadline and taking a chance he'll re-sign is a stupid gamble. if he plays well before the deadline we need to trade him.
Thye'll showcase him, trade him at the deadline then tank the rest of the year. We'll have more assets and maybe some younger players in addition
because that's the logical thing to do. but, and i'm not saying wyc and danny are being illogical but they could and thus far seem completely reluctant in going full-on rebuild mode and make the mistake of holding onto Rondo past the deadline in the hopes he'll re-sign and still hoping they can still trade for players to surround him with. this team doesn't need Rondo on a max deal with no other stars on top of it.
we need to fully commit to a full rebuild or actually get deals done to make us a legit contender. none of this one foot on one side and the other foot on the other side. it'd be one thing if we had a player like pierce to build around but we don't, rondo isn't.
