Why? Are we a title contender? What's the rush to get rid of him by wasting picks ?

If it is needed to make a bigger move, then yes.  Just to get out of the contract, no.

Bingo

And considering Wallace has 20 million over 2 years coming to him he is going to cost more than a late first round pick. A late first rounder is what Marcus thornton's 8 million yields.

20 million should cost at least, 1-2 late first rounders plus another first that is expected to land in the 10-20range.

No reason to give that up without a sure thing coming back.

I don't think it's necessary to trade Wallace, I think if needed be we can stretch his contract and be comfortable.

No need to trade Wallace until we need the cap space or for big trade filler.

Agree with all the sentiment above. Only desperate teams give away first rounders to unload bad salary.

Play Wallace, see if he can contribute in a reserve role and wait it out. He'll be an expiring soon enough. We need all our picks to either find the next diamond in the rough or to make trades.

Nope, it's time to be patient and trade him next year as an expiring contract to match salaries. Next year at this time we can be at:

~$20M: Sullinger, Olynyk, Zeller, Smart, Young, 2015 high pick, 2015 low pick
$8M: Bradley
$9M: Green
$10M: Wallace

That's 7 young assets  for $20M plus 3 moveable contracts for $27M, which puts us in 2-3 max player potential range with about a dozen assets to include in deals. Patience...

There's no point. We aren't getting any major free agents anytime soon.  Wallace will be a valuable expiring contract in a couple years.

This. There is no need whatsoever to give up valuable assets to move Wallace now.
Jaylen Brown will be an All Star in the next 5 years.

I would gladly give up the clippers pick or cleveland pick(if Lebron goes there) to move Wallace's contract . Would give us 30 mil+ in cap space next year .

Anyone with me?

We don't have a need for the cap room at this point in time. That could change this offseason, but appears unlikely. Thus, keep the picks and your options open.

That sounds incredibly pointless.  It's not quite as bad as the Clippers giving up an unprotected first just to get rid of Baron Davis.  It's a bit more like the Suns trading two future firsts just to get rid of Kurt Thomas.

so would it be pointless if it means we can sign Rondo and Love or Gasol? Because with Wallace's contract here, that's not going to be possible.
You move him when you have to move him.  There is no point in trading him now as there is no cap space now.  If next summer Boston needs to move him to sign someone, that is when you move him.
