NO way you get in the playoffs with two guards who are no or minimal perimeter threats.
Rondo and Smart are never going to work together on the floor. It's playing three on five from the perimeter.
Why don't you think they will? To say Smart won't develop his shot would be under the aassumption he isn't a hard worker/gym rat type. BBut from what I understand that's one of his biggest strengths. He's an elite finisher with great vision. Rondo has always brought max potential out of players and I truly feel RR and Smart will become an extremely potent back court.
3point shooting and floor spacing for guards are paramount in today's NBA. Your guards have to able able to do that or there wont be any penetrating lanes. Defenses will just clog the middle and dare them to shoot. Add in Bradley and that's the worst shooting back court in the league. Smart 42 % from the field and 29% from 3 last year--- that aint gonna cut it folks, not from a 2 guard playing with Rondo.
I hear you. But with the acquisition of a solid 3((Parsons cough cough) and having two stretch 4s. I think the constant motion of our offense does open up lanes and creates open shots for our players. I say take AB out of the picture maybe with a S&T for role players. Smart is just as good as a defender if not better, elite finisher and a high volume scorer. The penetration capabilities that Rondo and Smart have will be effective BECAUSE of the fact our 4-5s can space the floor.
