The refs are a disgrace in my opinion...in many many many ways, I hope the league was a little bit more like the 90s and before. JUST LET THEM PLAY!!!!!

Hard fouls I get, but a small tap, they should just let it go...it's so bad that if you even BREATHE on a player you foul

Some of their production subsidized guys ( many FTAs) would not be as good.  Some of these guys get 1/3 of their points via the refs.

LeBron averages 8.6 FTAs a game.

Jordan was 8.2 FTAs a game.  The boosting started here.

Bird was  5 FTAs a game and guys hung all over him and practically clothes lined him.

They could be, at about the 6th or so violation.

Trouble the refs just flat out are horrible.   They would find a way to mess this up as well.   They even see stuff on replay and don't reverse cards.   Instant replay exposes them and their mistakes.   Other league have much more competant individuals who don't get personal or favor stars as much.

These are by far the best officials in the history of basketball....Seriously.  Earl Strom was never given the directive that a travel wasn't really a travel if Bird or Erving or Jabbar or Malone did it.
But today's official officiates by different rulebooks for different players...And they're amazingly consistent at doing so.  Seriously....How do you watch wade, Paul, or los Nash carry the ball right in front of you time after time and consistently ignore it?  How do you watch the 6'9" messiah take 3-4 giant strides without a dribble and have 3 officials not see it every single time?  Pierce with his upfake/charge move?  How does he get to the free throw line 19 times out of 20 when he's initiating the contact on a defender coming straight down?

These refs have been asked to consistently use different rulebooks for different players and are amazingly consistent at it.  I seriously don't fault them.  Earl Strom didn't have to be Earl Hebner to keep his job.  The Crawfords do.

You're asking guys who've essentially become WWE officials to determine WWE moves...like flopping....Well...Maybe it isn't so much of a reach.

I would give each coach one flopping replay appeal per game.  If a flop is determined he gets another appeal.  A technical...2 shots and the ball should be the penalty.

If that was actually the directive..(Let them play)....You'd see the Oakley / Malone / Lucas / Mahorn-type enforcer on every roster.  The flopper would get clotheslined on his way down the court the next time down....Problem solved.  It's actually what today's game is missing.....Well that and the whole star-calls thing.

What gets me is the clear attempt to make up bad calls.  It so often blatant.  Why they just can't reverse bad calls when detected is really dumb to me.  Everybody makes mistakes and everyone knows the game can be too fast for the eyes.  Nobody is perfect but these refs don't get that.

And Wade is just a ****ty basketball player.  Easily my least favorite player in the league.
