Would those worried about Love's defense be happier if we could get him and Gordon? Gordon's versatility as a defender might help a lot, particularly if we also plan to acquire a defense-minded C - meaning that we could almost always hide Love on defense if we wanted, by having him cover the worst offensive frontcourt player on the other team.
My thinking is this. Ford's earlier bid boards generally showed that the Celts have Gordon ranked higher than most other teams...so if we don't take him, he could slip to the 9-10 range.
Assuming we've packaged #6 and other assets to get Love, could we package #17 and other assets (Clips pick?) to move up to #10 and snag Gordon too? I could see the Sixers as willing to move their #10 pick for the right price. Maybe the Cavs would consider something similar at #9.
Would something like that be worth doing?
Interested to hear everyone's thoughts.
