Avery Bradley's contract is expiring this summer, so the Celtics need to decide if they'd like to keep or release him. Bradley is improving and this year it was noticeable how much he improved his jumpshot. He still is a prime time perimeter defender but he cannot handle the ball and play point-guard. Still the main concern about Bradley is his health. This season he had ankle problems that did not let him play for many games.

Signing Bradley to a 4-year contract might not be a good idea because if he might  get injured a lot and it will be pretty expensive to resign him. Signing him to a 2-3 year contract would be better so the C's can see where his career is going, because Bradley is still a highly talented guy.

There is of course the other possibility of letting Bradley go and seeking a new shooting guard. The best option is probably Gordon Hayward. He is a versatile player who can play the 2 or the 3, he is a solid defender and a fine wing scorer. Him reuniting with his college coach Brad Stevens would be nice since they have a great relationship. Furthermore he is cheaper than Bradley so the Celtics will have more cap flexibility.

I'm not sure which option is better and i'd be glad to hear opinions and other options.

That's not accurate. He'll likely get double what Bradley gets this summer.

A team would be pretty foolish to give Hayward twice what Bradley gets. The odds on them not regretting that deal are fairly slim.

Certainly not double but I do think Hayward will end up with a larger contract than Bradley once the dust settles.

Hayward likely will get double. I see Bradley in the 4.5 - 5.5 mill annual range. I think Hayward easily gets 9-11 mill annually.

No way he's worth that money.

My thoughts exactly.

As a reference point, the C's offfered 6M earlier and I heard a reporter (forgot who) say that Stepenson would get around 8M based on what he had heard from teams. So at the very least I expect Hayward to get 9M.
