This is a good idea. Hibbert is trading low right now because of some turmoil on that team.  He would be a steal for a 17 pick.  doubt this works for Indy or Houston though.

strictly speaking on a talent level, hibbert for #17 is a steal.  the drawback is his recent play and his contract.  get him focussed on playing hard and it's a no brainer.

would never happen though.  Bird isn't letting him go for that little in return regardless of his recent play.

Yea I'd be shocked to see Indiana deal him, let alone to another team in the East where Hibbert could go and suddenly turn into Wilt Chamberlain.

Given contracts and likely price tags, I'd prefer Asik.

Really??

Wow...I'd take Hibbert over Asik anyday.

In terms of cap hit, one year, $8.4 million, vs. two years, $30.4 million (I'm assuming Hibbert would exercise his player option; why would he not?).

I just don't think Asik is that good.

I really don't think the gap is that huge.

As I said too, considering the likely price. We've discussed what Asik would likely cost in numerous threads but I imagine IF Hibbert was to be moved (which I doubt), you would likely have to surrender a stars package.

I don't think the gap in price is equal to the gap in talent.

Kyle Lowry, Dwayne Wade, 13th pick in even numbered rounds, 18th pick in odd numbered rounds.

Regardless I agree with that part, he ain't goin' anywhere (unless DA can take Larry out for some serious drinking.)
