Really like Tyler Ennis but don't see him being available in the middle of the first round with our second pick.
If we get a top 3 pick which would be the new face of the franschise, We should try to pull the trigger and trade Rondo to move up and grab Ennis.
I don't get the Ennis love on this board and some of the mocks. All I can attribute it to is Syracuse's early successes.
The guy is 6'2' with shoes (so he's what 6' 1/2" at best?). Not very athletic, not very quick, has difficulty finishing at the rim and averages just over 12 points and under 6 assists and almost 2 turnovers in over 35 minutes per game.
For someone who is supposedly in the top 15 in most mocks, I don't see his value as being that high and wouldn't waste a pick on him even in the top 20.
And to think of trading Rondo to move up for Ennis (who I think is at best a good backup pg in this league)is something I would hope (and think) that Ainge would never consider, unless something big was coming back.
Ennis is big in neither stature nor stats. He doesn't have good lateral quickness, and that combined with his height (or lack thereof)and the zone defensive scheme that he comes from at Syracuse screams defensive liability with not enough on the other side of the ball to make him worth taking even with our second pick, never mind thinking of moving Rondo for him.
