If we built a team in the offseason that could contend next year by obtaining a game changing number one option then I would do it in a heart beat. But if we have our team as is going into next year, he isn't the game changing number one option I would spend two picks on.

A game-changing number one option will cost you more than two picks.  And there's no game-changer available who will single-handedly vault the Celtics into contention.

Noah is an All-Star caliber player.  If you need to assemble a three-star championship core, you're probably going to have to add the second guy to Rondo before you have a clear idea of who the third man should be.  It would be difficult to get a better center than Noah, so acquiring him does not present a likely problem of position overlap.

Noah is such a team player that he turned down entering the draft and being a likely top three pick (and possibly first overall) to help Florida repeat as NCAA champions.

I hope that Derrick Rose's recovery is sufficiently problematic that Chicago feels a need to blow up their team and trade guys like Noah for draft picks.

I love Noah, he's got KG Like heart and fire. He's also one of the best two way big men in the game and a straight up winner.
Chicago would be out of their mind to trade him but if, if you could would you trade two unprotected  first round pics for him? Three?

I think rondo green, sully, Noah could win the Atlantic and be a top 4 seed next year.
Find a way to nab Stevenson and we're back in contention
I don't think the Bulls are trading Noah. Also, Noah's talents are somewhat wasted playing next to a PG that is best with the ball in his hands -- Noah is one of the best passing Cs in the game, but he can't really shoot.

Two second round picks, sure.   ;D
Noah is a nice defensive "center" with hustle but his offense is atrocious.  If it's a late 1st and someone we don't want, then sure.  But no way I'm trading any lotto picks for Noah.

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism

I guess the real question is, say we secure the 3rd pick in the upcoming draft - is there an all-star you would trade that pick for? Would another team be willing to give up their star for that pick? The pick would have to be the major part of the deal (other than filler, no additional picks) and it would be assumed that the star would re-sign with us.

Example - with NY's questionable future, would they be willing to trade us Melo in such a deal? If this were the case, bringing Noah on board would seem like a no-brainer.

It's tempting. The guy though does more than just play the Center position. His intensity electrifies his team and the crowed, like KG used to do for us. Really like these kind of player. Absolute all out on the floor. When we were going to draft 5th before all the trades happen, i was praying Danny pick Noah if Horford was not there. I really liked that florida team that won the championship.

If you like Noah, the only guy in a long while i seen in college with similar intensity/energy is Montrezl Harrell. I hope Danny can get another pick grab Harrell.

I'd give up more for Noah than I would for Roy Hibbert or Marc Gasol.

  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
I don't think Id give up two lottery picks or two unprotected picks for Noah, unless there was a follow up move to improve somewhere else. And not a minor improvement, but an established star.
