Oh yeah, I'd definitely trade 2 top 59 protected future 2nd rounders for Joakim Noah. Where do I sign? :P On a let's not poke fun of the ambiguity in the Thread title note, I doubt he is available at any price with Rose, and the likes of Butler and Gibson staying in Chicago at least in the medium term.

too much and for no good reason.

he has an injury history and is a good player to add when you already have your building block(s) in place to start contending.  way too soon to be adding Noah to this roster.

assuming we were a good team and improving where it made sense to add him, I'd consider the Atl/Brk pick this year and AB.  $ doesn't work but that's about what I'd offer for talent.

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
I think people are underrating Noah. To say that you add him when you need that last piece for a contender seems to be selling him short (similar thing was said about Asik). He is a much much better player than Asik and is somebody who not only is a dominant defensive player, but a leader. He is also able to occasionally put together triple doubles. I agree that we would probably need to add another scorer at the sg position, but I think we would be in pretty good shape moving forward as he fits right in with the Rondo / Green / Bass types in terms of age.

As for what two picks, I think that the BKN pick this year and our pick next year would be fair; however, there is no way Chicago is trading him.

Agree.

Noah adds the versatility, and hustle that most teams hope for in their players.

Did you know in the last few weeks of January/February, Noah was the only Center with 151 or more APG? Hes in top 3 of assists, with Lebron, and someone else who has more. I don't exactly remember who it was, I remember reading it on ESPN, they were talking about how great of a passer Noah is.

He averaged like 6.2 APG in that month and half stretch.

Noah is competitive. He doesn't give up. His passion and drive for the game reminds me so much of KG. Imagine KG/Noah... We would've been contenders almost every year with the Big 3 of Rondo, Pierce, KG, and Noah. I honestly would've taken Allen over Noah after 07-08. Allen just steadily declined, and wasn't good enough on defense, and to me the biggest component is defense that wins championships.

Noah is probably next to Marc Gasol the best passing big man along with Demarcus Cousins.

But its his leadership.

Everyone says Rose is the best player on the Bulls and I disagree. Noah is a big reason for why they have the best defense in the league.

Rose in my mind is overrated, and didn't deserve the MVP, but he still did his best regardless. I just think Noah is someone who can change any team into 2nd round playoff teams.

He never gives up on any play.

I would gladly give up 2 first round picks, but I wouldn't give up the pick this year. Noah is good, and probably the most underrated Center, because he doesn't have much of an offensive game. People hate him a lot, especially during ASG where he was hustling and working hard on the boards. But... that is a type of player you want. Rondo is like that too.

I wonder how Noah and Rondo would work out. They'd work well, but they would hate the living daylights out of each other lol.

yes, just not the 2014 lotto pick from us. He is a legit center who can defend, rebound, pass and score. He would help our rebuild a lot quicker.

Quote
Noah recorded 13 points, 12 rebounds and a career-high 14 assists, becoming the first center to notch 14 or more dimes in a game since at least 1985, according to Basketball-Reference.

Only players that have averaged 11+ PPG, 11+ RPG, 4.5+ APG, and at least 1 BPG have only been matched 12 times in the history of the NBA. The only names in his elite company who've done that? Kareem, Charles, Bill Walton, Sam Lacey, and KG. Only Kareem accomplished the same feat after 28. Noah is on track to do that this season, and has been the biggest difference maker.

He's averaging 13.3 points, 12.9 rebounds, 6.0 assists, 1.1 steals and 1.6 blocks per game since Deng was traded, according to Basketball-Reference—numbers that have never been matched over the course of a full season.

Noah is also grabbing 20.1 percent of available rebounds and assisting on 27.4 percent of his teammates' baskets while on the floor since the Deng trade, a feat that has also never been matched, with only Kevin Garnett coming close.

Noah has and always been the heart and soul of the team. Hes the real leader, and he always hustles hard. The only problem is giving it all your can lead to injuries, but its never stopped Noah.

If point center was a thing he'd be it. Top tier rebounder and best passing big out

If we built a team in the offseason that could contend next year by obtaining a game changing number one option then I would do it in a heart beat. But if we have our team as is going into next year, he isn't the game changing number one option I would spend two picks on.

Agreed, great player but he's not going to do much improvement with the current roster.

I would absolutely trade 2 picks, the only one I'd be adamant about keeping would be our 2014 pick.

Noah is a terrific player (it's funny how many people think we should be getting a 1st for a guy like Avery, but don't think we need to give up anything like that to acquire actual All-Stars). He actually reminds me a lot of KG - and I don't say that lightly - in his approach to the game and his defensive ability. I'd be very happy moving forward with a Rondo/Green/Sully/Noah core. We'd absolutely need an offensive upgrade at the 2, but we'd still have enough assets to get it done.

With that said, Chicago's not trading him anytime soon.

Right because a defensive minded center who can protect the rim and give our defense a backbone wouldn't impact this team at all.

Of course it would impact us, but it won't get us in the finals. We would need more pieces to put next to him.

Edit: Didn't really word it right in my original post, I didn't mean he would have no impact.

If the Celtics had already made a move to get a scorer like Melo or Love here, I'd be willing to trade a couple of 1sts for Noah.

I love Noah.  I think he's a really underrated player, and if you have him as a supporting star for a primary scorer and a solid supporting cast, your team is going to be in very good shape.  I really think he's the guy who has kept the Bulls competitive over the past few years as Rose has struggled so much with injuries (other than Thibs, of course).

Trading a bunch of assets for Noah if the team doesn't already have that scorer, however, doesn't make sense.
