It seems like most Celtics fans here feel the Garnett deal would not be any impediment to a potential Love deal. I'd be curious to know what T-Wolves fans think. I would think it'd increase the humiliation/depression factor a bit.

Imagine the comments: "Well I guess we're just Boston's farm team."

I have to believe that in the end they'd still take the best deal, but it would be quite an ignominious bookend to a sorry chapter in T'Wolves history: "2007-2014: The Kevins Go To Boston Era."

EDIT: Corrected wrong year.

Not entirely the same, but somewhat similar, Orlando did trade Dwight to LA years after letting Shaq leave via free agency for LA.

Hopefully it works out better for us if we did pull off such a trade.  The fear of Love pulling a 'Dwight' on the Celtics, would probably cause me to pass on a deal though.

I think it depends where our pick ends up.

Lakers are in excellent position to trade for Love on draft day.  They have a worse record than we do and their team should remain worse for the rest of the season.

I'm pretty sure the Lakers are actually in a pretty bad spot for making any draft day trades.  They have only Kobe and Nash as decent sized contracts to trade that aren't expiring deals.  They will also still be using this season's cap number, so they can't just absorb salary.  Basically, they're dead in the water on draft day (unless someone is actually willing to pay Nash's buyout).

Excuse me if I'm wrong, but can the Lakers trade their '14 pick for Love in draft day or can they not trade consecutive draft picks?

It's based on your perspective, quite simply

Sure, they could trade the pick, but they can't take back any salary unless they send out Kobe or Nash. Makes any trade for a star player on a big contract difficult.

Klove is no KG. He is paid alot of money and can't play defense against certain players

Danny won't overpay for him.  I can see Danny overpaying for
lamarcus aldridge though
