Danny was right that he had potential.  That was obvious.  I still don't think he's a rotation player on a good team.

he was in the rotation at times last year for a very good pacers team (18mpg) and the suns are playing above .500 and holding a position in a really tough western conference. So this is kind of just... not reality
He played 11 min per game in the playoffs, so ok, decent point.  I don't remember him playing that much.
Because the majority of his minutes came during garbage time and got 10 DNP-CDs. (unless he had an injury I missed)

Gerald wouldn't  be the first mistake Danny's made, IF he turns out to be something special. When you draft kids on potential it's a crap shoot whether or not that person is ever going to amount to something special. If I had the time I could list 50 people that were drafted on "upside." Also, there's only ONE person that's left from those years and it's our beloved Captain so I doubt if GG would have ever had an "untouchable" tag anyways.  The only reason RR is still here is because a few deals fell through.  Face it, our GM is not stable enough to hold on to anyone too long!

I don't see how it's a mistake.  I wouldn't expect any team to spend 8 years developing a player just to the point of getting him rotation worthy.

He was in and out of pacers rotation for most of the season, and fell out of it during the second half of the playoffs. The team had stephenson and george playing at sg and sf, so there were very limited backup minutes to go around when those guys were playing over 40 minutes a game in the playoffs. Even if we want to argue about whether he was a rotation player last year, we can't even make the argument this year. He is averaging 28 minutes a night for the suns who are 24-17 (and have been missing one of their best two players the last few weeks). I don't think he is a star. In fact, he is very one dimensional, but it is tough to argue something that just isn't true. I would like to say chris anderson can't be in the rotation of a good team because he seems like a creep, but unfortunately he is.
